The Person Behind Your Medicare Decisions

About

I didn't come to Medicare insurance through a sales training program. I came through watching my mother face a serious illness and realizing how much the wrong coverage — or no guidance at all — can cost a family when it matters most.

About Charles Zubrod

My career originally started in accounting and finance. After graduating from Seattle University, I passed the CPA exam in 1992. I was recruited to what was then called a “Big Six” public accounting firm, doing SEC auditing. I then went on to positions as a Financial Analyst, Controller and Budget Manager for companies in a range of fields. I eventually carved out a career in the private sector as a quasi-consultant restructuring financial reporting structures and budgets.

That decision wasn't made lightly, and it isn't one I've regretted. Every client I sit down with — whether at their kitchen table, a coffee shop, or a food bank — is someone who deserves the same clarity I wish my family had when we needed it most.

Ten Years in This Community Before You Ever Needed Me

Before I was your Medicare broker, I was showing up at local food banks across the Puget Sound Corridor. I've been doing that for ten years, and I'm still doing it. That's not a credential I list to look good — it's how I know this community. The people I help with Medicare are the same people I've been standing alongside for a decade.

Community-first isn't a tagline here. It's the sequence of events.

What My Background Means for You

My years in professional accounting consulting shaped how I approach coverage decisions. I read plan structures carefully. I compare numbers before I make recommendations. I don't work from a script — I work from your actual situation.

Here's what that looks like in practice:

I'm an independent broker, which means I'm not contracted to push one carrier's plans over another. I compare options across the carriers available in your area and recommend what fits you.

I hold current Washington State licensure and work exclusively with Medicare-eligible products — this is my full focus, not a sideline.

I meet clients in person: at your home, a coffee shop, or wherever is easiest for you.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation with no obligation, so you can get a feel for how I work before committing to anything.

I've spent 10 years volunteering at food banks in Pierce, Kitsap, and Mason counties — the same counties where most of my clients live.

I work with seniors across western Washington, with a primary focus on Pierce County, Kitsap County, and Mason County. I also serve clients in Thurston, Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor, Lewis, and King counties. If you're not sure whether I cover your area, reach out — chances are I do.
