A Medicare Broker Serving King County — Not a Call Center, Not a National Brand

If you've searched for Medicare help in the Seattle area, you already know what comes up: national aggregator sites, 1-800 numbers, and brokerage brands with hundreds of agents you'll never meet twice. I'm Charles, an independent Medicare broker based in the South Sound corridor, and I work with King County residents the way I work with everyone — in person, one conversation at a time.

I served my community at local food banks for 10 years. The seniors I help aren't a sales pipeline — they're my neighbors.

South King County Coverage, Close to the Communities I Already Serve

My service area in King County focuses on the southern reaches of the county — communities closer to Pierce and Kitsap than to downtown Seattle. If you're in Renton, Burien, Tukwila, Auburn, Kent, Federal Way, or the unincorporated areas near the county line, you're well within the area I cover regularly. I meet clients at their homes, at a local coffee shop, or wherever is most convenient. There's no office you have to drive to and no call queue you have to wait in.

I serve seniors across Pierce County and Kitsap County as well, so if you're near those borders, you're in familiar territory for me.

What Working With an Independent Medicare Agent Actually Means

Independent means I'm not employed by any insurance carrier and I'm not assigned a monthly sales quota. I hold contracts with multiple carriers and can present options from all of them. My compensation comes from the carriers when you enroll, and that rate is set by Medicare — it doesn't change based on which plan you choose. So I have no financial reason to steer you toward one plan over another. My reason to recommend a plan is that it fits your situation.

That's a meaningful distinction from the large brokerages and call centers that dominate King County Medicare advertising. When you call one of those numbers, you often don't know who you'll reach, whether they're licensed in Washington, or whether they can meet with you in person if something goes wrong at renewal time. With me, you get one person, a direct phone number, and a consistent relationship from enrollment through every Annual Enrollment Period that follows.

If Prescription Costs Are a Factor, Start Here

Part D plan selection is one of the most consequential decisions King County Medicare enrollees make — and one of the least carefully considered, because the premium differences between plans look small until you see what your specific medications cost under each formulary. I offer a free prescription list review where I compare your current medications against available Part D plans in your zip code and show you the real annual cost difference, not just the monthly premium.

If your income qualifies you for Extra Help or a Medicare Savings Program, those programs can dramatically reduce what you pay for prescriptions and premiums. I can help you determine eligibility and walk through the application process at no charge.

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage (Part C) bundles your hospital, medical, and often prescription drug coverage into a single plan. Several carriers offer Medicare Advantage in Pierce County, and the right choice depends on your doctors, your prescriptions, and how much predictability you want in your out-of-pocket costs.

Medicare Supplement (Medigap)

A Medicare Supplement plan works alongside Original Medicare to cover costs like deductibles and coinsurance that Medicare leaves unpaid. If you want predictable costs and freedom to see any Medicare-accepting provider, this is worth a close look.

Part D Prescription Drug Plans

If your prescriptions are a significant part of your monthly budget, Part D plan selection deserves real attention. Send me your current prescription list and I'll run a comparison of plans available in your zip code.

Common Medicare Questions from King County Residents

  • Do you meet with clients in person in King County?

Yes. I meet clients at their home, a coffee shop, or another location that works for them. My coverage in King County is focused on south King County communities, including Federal Way, Auburn, Kent, Renton, and Burien. If you're in a different part of the county, reach out and we can figure out what works.
  • Is there a fee for your Medicare brokerage services?

There's no fee to you at any point. I'm compensated by the insurance carriers when you enroll in a plan, and that rate is set by Medicare — it's the same regardless of which plan you choose. My 15-minute consultation is free with no obligation.
  • What Medicare Advantage plans are available in King County?

King County has a wide selection of Medicare Advantage plans from multiple carriers. Availability varies by zip code, and plan networks, premiums, and out-of-pocket limits differ significantly from one plan to the next. I compare available options specific to your location and your doctors before making any recommendation.
  • Can you help me switch Medicare plans during the Annual Enrollment Period?

Yes. The Annual Enrollment Period runs from October 15 through December 7 each year. During that window, you can switch Medicare Advantage plans, change from Medicare Advantage to Original Medicare, or change your Part D drug plan. I review your current coverage against what's newly available each fall and flag anything worth changing.
  • What if I already have Medicare but I'm not sure I'm in the right plan?

That's one of the most common situations I work through with clients. Bring your current plan information to our consultation and I'll compare it against what's available in your area. If your current plan is still the right fit, I'll tell you that. If there's a better option, I'll show you the difference in plain numbers.

Ready to Talk Through Your Medicare Options?

If you're in King County and you're tired of getting routed through call centers or buried under Medicare mailers, I'd like to be a different kind of option. My practice is built around direct, in-person relationships with the seniors I serve across the South Sound — and that extends into south King County for clients who want that kind of experience. A free 15-minute call is the simplest way to find out whether I can help you.
